Increase Libido While Taking Phentermine

Is there a drug that I can take while taking Phentermine to increase my sex drive? I take Phentermine for weight loss in intervals of 3 months at a time, and I've noticed a significant drop in my sex drive. I want to know if there is something that I can take along with the Phentermine that will counteract the side effect of low sex drive or even help me keep or increase my sex drive. I take ashwagandha and maca, which are supplements, but neither of these helps with my sex drive; they only help with my energy and my stress level. So, is there something that I can take either OTC or by prescription to help increase my sex drive while I'm taking Phentermine?

It’s common to experience a drop in sex drive (libido) when taking Phentermine for weight loss. Phentermine can have side effects like reduced libido, and many people seek ways to counteract this. While ashwagandha and maca help with energy and stress, they may not be enough for boosting libido.

Here are some options that might help:

  • Bupropion (Wellbutrin): This prescription medication is often used to treat depression but has been noted to increase libido in some people. It’s important to discuss this with your doctor to see if it’s appropriate for you.
  • L-Arginine: This is an over-the-counter amino acid that can help improve blood flow, which may enhance sexual function. Always check with your healthcare provider before starting any new supplement.

  • Testosterone Therapy: If low libido is due to low testosterone levels, hormone replacement therapy might be beneficial. This requires a prescription and close monitoring by your doctor.
  • Ginkgo Biloba: This herbal supplement is sometimes used to enhance sexual desire and improve blood flow. Consult your doctor to ensure it’s safe with Phentermine.
  • Lifestyle Changes: Sometimes, simple lifestyle changes like regular exercise, maintaining a healthy diet, and reducing stress can significantly improve libido.

Before taking any new medication or supplement, it’s crucial to talk with your healthcare provider. They can help you understand potential interactions with Phentermine and find the best solution for your needs.

Phentermine can lower libido. Discuss options like Bupropion, L-Arginine, testosterone therapy, and Ginkgo Biloba with your doctor to find a suitable solution.

Phentermine can increase or decrease libido (sex drive) in those taking this drug.
